Elias Michelioudakisis currently an IT Portfolio Management Consultant at the European Commission (DG GROW) in Brussels.
He has a career spanning more than 30 years in project management, with expertise in various methodologies like PM², PM²-Agile, Prince2, SCRUM, and Lean 6 Sigma. His experience has taken him through diverse global and multicultural environments, allowing him to gain insights across multiple industries, primarily in Transportation/Logistics, but also in Agriculture, Services, ICT, and Governmental organizations.
Elias was for seven years a member of the Center of Excellence in PM² (CoEPM²) of the European Commission (DG DIGIT). During this period, he managed numerous software development projects using PM²/PM²-Agile, coached on the nuanced adoption and customisation of the PM² methodology numerous practitioners and mentored project teams, evolved and integrated the PM² methodology with well-established project management standards (e.g. CMMI, COBIT, PRINCE2, PMI, RUP, DAD/Agile RUP@EC, BPM, SOA, CORA, Six Sigma Lean, PMP, SAFe and other EC internal methodologies), organized and moderated/hosted Project Management Community of Practice events internal to the European Institutions, designed and conducted classroom/on-line training courses/examinations (on PM², PM²-Agile, PM² Practitioner certification paths), initiated/coordinated open PM² activities (release of open guides and artefacts, presentations/eLearning courses, extending the reach of the methodology in other European initiatives – ESCO, EIF, Digital Skills, European funding programmes & procurement frameworks etc.), interacted with open PM² Community in the European member states, provided Consultancy / Advisory Services in Project, Program, Portfolio, Project Office set up, Business Modelling and IT Governance for a number of EUIs (ECB, EIB, OP, DG GROW, DG REFORM/SRSS, DG SANTE, DG BUDG, CHAFEA, EBA, DG TAXUD, EPPO, DG ENER etc.) and is a member of the European Institutions Interinstitutional Project Management Office Group (x-subgroup of the Comité Informatique Interinstitutionnel) a testament to his unwavering commitment to the advancement of project management practices within the European landscape.
